How to Become a FQHC

HCAN provides assistance to communities and organizations that are considering health center opportunities.

Community health centers provide comprehensive primary care services to high need areas and populations. Governed by a majority consumer board, community health centers are designed to meet both primary care needs as well as provide supportive services such as transportation.

To find out about community health center funding, please visit the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) website here.

To read a little bit more about what health centers are, including the health center Look-Alike option, review the summary information here.

For a more in-depth look at how to start a community health center, HCAN recommends that you download the manual from the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC).

Please contact HCAN if you have any questions about the community health center program, and resources available.
